Five people held in the jail at Wetumpka, Alabama, were taken from the jail by a mob of about 150 people and lynched, according to a brief item in the Daily Kentuckian published June 18, 1898. The item gives no names or ages for the five. The only reported facts are that the mob took them from the jail and killed them.
