The man's name is not known. He was held at the city jail in Rock Springs, Wyoming, when about twenty-five citizens overpowered the jailer, took him, and hanged him, according to a brief Pine Bluff Daily Graphic report dated December 12, 1917. The dispatch does not say whether the jailer resisted or gave up the keys.
