Name not reported
A man held at the Centralia, Washington jail was taken from it by a mob on November 11, 1919, during the Armistice Day parade, and his name is not given. Telephone reports printed in The Kentuckian said the crowd got him into an automobile before guards could stop them, and that they hanged him from a telephone pole until the chief of police persuaded them to let him down. One account in The Little River News says the mob drove him outside the city limits and hanged him from a bridge on the old Chehalis military road. Later reports said a body was hanging under a bridge, while others said he was still alive in the jail that night, so when and whether he died is disputed.
