A man being held by the sheriff in Malden, Missouri, was taken from the sheriff's custody by a mob while he was being moved to the place of his trial, and the mob killed him. The San Antonio Daily Light reported the lynching on September 22, 1886, in a brief account. His name is not given in the report.
