A man held at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center in Georgia died on August 18, 2021, at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital after he began bleeding while vomiting. Reporting says he had told staff when he was received at the jail that he had Stage IV throat and stomach cancer. The Cobb County Sheriff's Office has not yet given a manner of death, and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation is conducting an external investigation alongside an internal sheriff's review. The family's account and his name are not part of the reporting we have.
