A 59-year-old man died at the Santa Clara County Main Jail in San Jose on February 4, 2024. The Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office said he was found unresponsive in his cell on a Sunday morning and that he was pronounced dead at a hospital shortly before noon. The Sheriff's Office said it does not believe foul play occurred, while the District Attorney's Office and the coroner are investigating. No cause of death has been given.
