She was a mother from Santa Ynez. After she was booked into the Main Jail in Santa Barbara in November 2024, she died by suicide by hanging in an observation cell there. A Grand Jury said she had made suicidal statements to mental health providers in the days before her death, and that she was placed in a cell with a telephone cord. The Grand Jury said the systems used to evaluate and treat people with severe mental health concerns had failed her.
