The person was a sailor on active duty who, in 2016, threatened to jump from the San Diego-Coronado Bridge and was talked down. They were then held at the George Bailey Detention Facility in Otay Mesa, where they jumped headfirst from a second-story ledge and died. The death was reported as a suicide.
