A man held at South Central Correctional Facility in Clifton, Tennessee, died on September 23, 2026, after a medical emergency inside the prison. Staff responded, and emergency medical services took him to a nearby hospital, where he died. CoreCivic, which operates the facility, said the circumstances are under investigation and attributed his death to a medical emergency. His name has not been released.
