Ulysses Whittaker

Ulysses Whittaker, who was Black, was held in the jail at Lynchburg. Their case had been called in court the day before and continued. On February 6, 1902, a mob took Ulysses Whittaker from the jail and hanged them. Ulysses Whittaker died at the hands of the mob while in the jail's custody.
