Thomas Boone, 70, was held at the Polk County Jail, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office. On April 17, 2026, he was taken by ambulance from the jail to a local hospital because of medical issues. He was then released on a medical furlough and moved to a hospital in Houston, where he died on April 20 while receiving treatment.
