Theodore Clifton Matthews, 43, died on April 7, 2025, while held at the U.S. Penitentiary in Florence, Colorado, according to the Bureau of Prisons. The bureau said staff found him unresponsive in the early morning and that staff and emergency medical services tried life-saving measures before he was pronounced dead at the prison.
