Died in jail or a lockup
Roderick
Roderick was held in the jail at Rawlins, in what was then Wyoming Territory. In March 1882, a party of masked men took him from the jail at about four in the morning. Newspapers of the day reported that they carried him to the stock yards about a mile east of town and hanged him there. The killing was a lynching by a mob that broke into the custody of the jail and took him out to be killed.
