Richard Jeffrey Sprinkel
Richard Jeffrey Sprinkel, 57, was a longtime golf professional, serving as head golf professional at Botetourt Golf and Swim Club and spending decades as a pro at Blue Hills Golf Club. He died on April 22, 2025, while held at the Botetourt-Craig Regional Jail in Fincastle, Virginia. The Botetourt County Sheriff's Office said a correctional deputy found him unresponsive in his single-occupancy cell during a security check. The cause and manner of death remain pending, with an autopsy by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Roanoke and an investigation under way.
