Paul Scruggs
Paul Scruggs was held in the jail at Cotton Plant, Arkansas, when a mob took him from custody and hanged him, according to a brief item in the Semi-Weekly Interior Journal published January 13, 1893. The item says his body was then shot many times. It does not give the date of death or say whether jail officers resisted the mob, gave up the keys or handed him over.
