McCracken
McCracken was one of three men a mob took from a constable at Willette in Mendocino County, California, on September 3, 1879, according to a San Francisco dispatch printed in the New Orleans Daily Democrat on September 5. The dispatch gives only his surname and says the mob hanged the three men. It does not say how the constable responded when the mob came for them.
