Maukiller
Maukiller, a Cherokee man, was hanged at Fort Smith, Arkansas, as one of six people put to death together, according to George Maledon, the executioner, who recalled the event. Maledon's recollection is the basis for this account of Maukiller's death. Maukiller was held in custody at Fort Smith before the execution.
