Louis Robertson
Louis Robertson was one of the men held in the Watkinsville jail in Georgia whom a masked mob took out in the early hours of June 29, 1905, according to the Associated Press. The mob marched him to a corner lot in the center of town, bound him to a fence and shot him in a volley, and the report says he was among the eight men killed. A San Francisco Call account published the next day says the mob forced the jailer, at rifle point, to hand over the keys and go with them to the scene. That account gives the date of the killing as June 23, a difference from the Associated Press date that the sources leave unresolved.
