Lonnetta Neshae Johnson died on January 13, 2022, while in custody in Harrison County, Texas, according to a custodial death report filed by the Harrison County Sheriff's Department. KSLA reported that a woman held in isolation at the Harrison County Jail in Marshall, in custody since December 30, 2021, was found struggling to breathe during a welfare check and died at a hospital that day, and it said her name was withheld while family was notified. The sheriff's office said an independent investigation into the death would be carried out.
