LaMarcus Hillard
LaMarcus Hillard, 40, was held at ADX Florence, the federal supermax prison in Fremont County, Colorado, when he died on September 19, 2020. An autopsy report quoted in news coverage gives the cause as ligature strangulment with a twisted bedsheet and describes him as bound, with plastic sheeting over his head. That report says the ligature was passed through a food slot while another prisoner was in an adjacent room. In April 2025, federal prosecutors said they would seek the death penalty against another prisoner in his death, and coverage says the circumstances have not been fully explained publicly.
