Khalil Allah (aka Freddie Owens)
Khalil Allah was executed by the state of South Carolina on September 20, 2024. He declined to choose an execution method, citing his Muslim faith, and authorized his attorney to choose one for him. His attorney raised concerns about the lack of transparency around the drugs to be used in the execution. The Death Penalty Information Center reported these concerns.
