Kaddarrius Marquise Cage
Kaddarrius Marquise Cage, 28, of Baton Rouge, lived with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, and his former wife described him as a great dad whose loss has left their 10-year-old daughter without him. He was held at the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison in late May 2023 and was found dead in his cell on May 31. The Sheriff's Office says he died by suicide and denies he was on mental health observation or suicide watch at the time. The family's federal lawsuit blames jail staff and the contracted health provider for his death.
