Jose Cordoza

Jose Cordoza was executed on July 7, 1879, in a jail corridor in San Antonio, Texas, with physicians and reporters present. According to The Daily Dispatch, he declared his innocence on the scaffold, after writing a short statement the day before. The paper reported that the drop fell at 11:23 and that he was pronounced dead at 11:45. His body was turned over to his parents.
