Jessee
According to a telephone message received in Atlanta, Jessee was the son of Dan Barber and one of four members of a Black family held at the Jasper County jail. The message says a mob overpowered the sheriff and forcibly removed the four people from the jail. Their bodies, riddled with bullets, were found on the outskirts of the town. The message describes the killings as a lynching.
