Jerry Teal was being held in the jail at San Augustine, Texas, when a mob took him from the jail and lynched him. The killing was carried out with hooks in front of a butcher shop, which served as an improvised gallows. The sources at hand do not describe his family or work, so nothing more is said of who he was.
