Jarrod Johnson, 27, was originally from Mitchell County, Georgia. He died on February 18, 2026, while held at Hancock State Prison in Sparta, after being stabbed once in the upper chest with a makeshift weapon, according to Hancock County Coroner Dontrelle Andrews. Coroner Andrews said an autopsy will determine the exact cause and manner of death, and the Georgia Department of Corrections is investigating.
