James R. Francis Sr.

James R. Francis Sr. was 70 years old. He was held at the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola, in West Feliciana Parish, and died there on May 9, 2020. The Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections lists his cause of death as COVID-19 in its death data. WAFB reported in July 2020 that its review of autopsy and prison records tied his death to the virus.
