James Pellak
James Michael Pellak, 53, died on April 25, 2020, after being held at the Onslow County Sheriff's Office Detention Center in Jacksonville, North Carolina. The Onslow County Sheriff's Office said he hanged himself with a bed sheet in his single cell. The sheriff and district attorney asked the State Bureau of Investigation to review the death. He had been taken to Onslow Memorial Hospital and then transferred to Vidant Medical Center, where he died.
