Jack Jones Jr., 52, was executed by the State of Arkansas on Monday night, April 24, 2017, in Grady. The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported that he was given heart-stopping doses of lethal drugs, and that his execution was one of two carried out that night, the first double execution in the nation since 2000. The Arkansas Department of Corrections' execution record lists the manner of death as homicide.
