Irwin Roberts
Irwin Roberts was being taken by officers through Shady Valley, Tennessee, toward the Johnson County jail when a mob seized him from the guards. The mob hanged him from the limb of a tree. The Big Stone Gap Post reported in December 1892 that his companion was also shot to death in the same incident.
