Henry Schmidt

Henry Schmidt was executed by hanging at West Union, Iowa, on January 13, 1888. On the scaffold he made a statement, expressing hope that he would be forgiven by God and by men. The drop fell at half past ten, and he died in about six and three-quarter minutes without a struggle. Reporting of the execution stated that his neck was broken.
