Henry Curtis Jackson
Henry Curtis Jackson, whom his family called Curtis, was put to death by lethal injection at the Mississippi State Penitentiary at Parchman on the evening of Tuesday, October 10, 2023, and was pronounced dead at 6:13 p.m., according to the Mississippi Department of Corrections. His sisters, one of them a mother, met with Governor Phil Bryant and pleaded for his life, and the governor declined to grant clemency. Guards described him as talkative but somber on the day of the execution. Prison officials said Jackson declined a last meal, a shower and a sedative.
