H. Kosher was held in the jail at Cheyenne. On the night of September 17, 1883, masked men took him from the jail and hanged him from a telegraph pole in the center of the city. The Memphis Daily Appeal reported the lynching.
Cause of death, as reported: Taken from custody and lynched. Masked men took Kosher from the Cheyenne jail and hanged him from a telegraph pole.
