Fred Hollar
Fred Hollar was held in the jail at Jacksonville, Illinois, in 1885. According to the Alexandria Gazette's 1886 report, a group of men in disguise broke into the jail and shot him through the abdomen. Before he died, he told those around him that he was innocent.
