Dwight Roach, 54, was in the custody of the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office in Tampa, Florida, when his condition worsened in May 2016. He was taken to Tampa General Hospital, where he died on May 21, 2016. The sheriff's office said he died from complications related to preexisting conditions and that he had been receiving care for those conditions while in jail.
