Dugat
Dugat was one of three men held in the Chicot County jail in Arkansas in 1871. According to The Opelousas Journal, citing an account it said came from an authentic source, an armed mob came to the jail during a period of unrest, and the sheriff gave up the keys. The mob took Dugat from his cell and shot him in the woods. The newspaper reported that the bodies were still unburied when it went to print.
