Colin Yeager Conner
Colin Conner, 32, had been receiving methadone treatment for opioid addiction before he was held at the Salt Lake County jail in 2023. His father, Jon Tyler Conner, who goes by Ty, says jail staff stopped his methadone doses, and that Colin then went into withdrawal and lost his tolerance. Colin was released onto the street in early June 2023 instead of to a court-ordered treatment facility, and he died less than a week later. The medical examiner ruled the death an accidental overdose from a combination of fentanyl and methamphetamine, and his family has filed a class action lawsuit over the lapse in treatment.
