Christopher Latham
Christopher Latham, 40, died in October 2023 while held at Ventress Correctional Facility in Alabama. He died after an assault by another man held at the prison. His family and the Alabama Department of Corrections said he had earlier been struck in the head at another prison. His death certificate lists the manner of death as accident and the cause as respiratory failure, with intracranial trauma as the underlying cause, even though it notes a fight at the prison. Appleseed has questioned the certifying physician about that classification.
