Charley Cumming
Charley Cumming, a 19-year-old man, was held at the jail at Appling in Columbia County, Georgia. Shortly after midnight on Sunday, May 15, 1904, a mob of 75 to 100 masked men took him from that jail. The mob lynched him there in Appling, and he was killed while in the custody of the jail.
