Carlyle Harris
Carlyle Harris was executed at Sing Sing prison in May 1893. A private funeral was held over his body inside the prison, attended only by his mother and brother, and he was buried that afternoon. His final written statement, released after the burial, maintained that he was innocent. At his direction, an affidavit from one of the jurors in his case was placed in the coffin.
