Alexander Jose Rios
Alexander Rios, 28, died in September 2019 after an incident at the Richland County Jail in Ohio, where corrections officers restrained him. According to video described by the Ohio Attorney General's office, which served as special prosecutors, officers pinned him down and he lost consciousness. He was placed on a ventilator, never regained consciousness, and died after the ventilator was removed seven days later.
Cause of death, as reported: Killed by staff. Richland County Jail staff restrained him, and the Ohio Attorney General's office, serving as special prosecutors, ruled the death a homicide.
